Every gambler has their own way of doing things. Every gambler has their habits in order the get themselves a much-needed win. Some like to bring in good luck charms like treasure trolls or four-leaf clovers. Others look for a sign to play like a suddenly itchy hand or wait for snow in the summertime.

Well, we're here to tell you that while some of these little, harmless habits are good; some of them are just downright stupid. The stupid ones need to be recognized and need to be stopped. Here are some the smart and dumb gambling habits that we've noticed.

Smart: Bringing Casino Game Info with You

Yes, every casino and every casino worker has information on how to play and win at every game. But we don't know anyone at a casino will tell you how to play unless it's a blackjack player at your table that is pissed you're not playing right.

That's why it's a good habit to bring the info with you. You can even head to the casino school, find out the optimal way to play blackjack, print out the info and bring it with you.

Dumb: Betting More with a Good Luck Charm

It's good having good-luck charms...especially if you've had them a long time and feel more comfortable with them around. But if good-luck charms always worked you would be a millionaire already…wouldn't you? That's why it's downright dumb to start betting more if you suddenly find this charm and win a couple of dollars with it.

Stick to betting the same amount you always play with.

Smart: Riding a Hot Streak

We know scientifically "hot streaks" in betting don't exist. But from our history in gaming it seems to work.

There seems to be small windows in life when things go your way, and we suggest riding them ‘til the wheels fall of. When you feel hot, keep playing until you go cold.

Dumb: Continuously Playing on a Cold Streak

When you do go cold, you need to stop playing. Immediately, in fact. You don't want to risk losing more money than you are comfortable with losing. Give it a rest and do something to take your mind off your cold streak.

Playing on a cold streak is something that every casino gambler has done at least once and most have been told to stop playing - only to ignore the request and proceed to give away all the money they made.

You know when your luck has run dry; show some will power and stop playing.
