There are certain cities in the United States where, no matter how much research we do, we can't figure out its significance compared to the rest of the United States. New York is the City that never sleeps. L.A. has Hollywood. Even Chicago has wind and high cholesterol.
What does Toledo, Ohio got? Apparently now they'll have a $250 million casino.
The Penn National Gaming company has already started construction on the multi-million dollar gaming palace called the Hollywood Toledo Casino.
"We're not big heavy gamblers," said local resident Ginny Birkenkamp. "We don't like to lose a lot and we don't win a lot, but we do frequent casinos when we travel."
Just like the rest of the United States, Ohio is adopting more gaming-friendly rules. And why not, there has to be something fun to do in Toledo, why not -- in our opinion -- the most profitable pieces of entertainment you'll ever use. There is one more reason to have a casino in Toledo, where there's a casino, a business boom will follow.
"This is really the first day if you'll listen very, very clearly, you'll hear that sucking sound of business starting to come back from Detroit," said Penn Chief Operating Officer Tim Wilmott.

The Mayor of Toledo thinks the new casino will be the city's savior: "We have to start working together because if we don't fix this ship here, we're all going to sink, and Penn National has given us a life preserver," he said. "They've given us the opportunity to be able to move forward in a direction that will create jobs, that will make people once again feel proud about what they're doing, and they'll be able to feed their families, they'll be able to shelter themselves, they'll be able to spend money in our city, and that is so important."
They'll also have something to do on a Friday night.
