Casino News: Casino Fined Over Players Card Table Dance
by Bodog Casino | Aug 27 2010
If there's one message casino gamblers gave players this week, it's that winning is possible no matter how wild the situation.
So when you win big, be cool. Try not to dance on tables like it's your birthday or like you and your buddies on a wild Vegas vacation. A guy over at Caesar's Palace lost the Vegas casino money he won – and for what? For essentially showing off too much.
Caesars Palace had to settle with Nevada regulators who accused the casino of failing to protect the game and its patrons, when a player got too “festive” in the Vegas casino.
What happened was a high-stakes gambler cavorted on a baccarat table and placed bets while a game was in progress last October.
The state gaming control board said Caesars' security should have stopped him from behaving in such a manner. And they got charged $250,000 for the scene that the player created. That's a big fine for a little fun.
Over a 45-minute period, during high-stakes gambling the patron "climbed onto the baccarat table from his chair, walked on his baccarat table and placed baccarat wagers before returning to stand on his chair and eventually sitting," the casino and regulators complaint read.
The unnamed gambler then proceeded to climb back on the table twice more, walking and dancing while up there, the state gaming control board said.
We're not exactly sure why the casino didn't stop him from having a good time up on a baccarat table and chairs, but we can only imagine it's because at the time, everyone – dealers included – thought he was just having a good time.
We're not sure why patrons thought things weren't as fun after a while, but the good news is we're sure Caesars Palace had more than enough cash to pay the fine.
Let us just say this much: we at Bodog would condone players doing salsa up on gaming tables as long as they don't look like Kate Gosselin or Buss Aldrin while they're doing it. No one should stop a player from dancing when he's got the urge.
