“I should’ve quit while I was ahead.”
If you haven’t told yourself this after spending some time at a casino you haven’t been playing enough. Every casino player has a day where they double or triple their money only to throw all of it and more back to the house in the name of greed.
It’s human nature to want more after you meet a monetary goal - that’s why it’s so hard to go against the grain and leave a Vegas casino with money in your pockets. The complimentary alcohol doesn’t help things either.
Don’t worry, all is not lost. We’ve got some tips to help you leave an online casino with more than lint in your pockets (or online account) in the future.
Set Your Alarm for “Cash Out” Time
Time flies when you’re trying to double your cash flow. One minute you’re having your morning coffee while you play Blackjack, the next thing you know Poker After Dark is on TV and your wife (or husband) is calling you to bed.
Sometimes gaming can turn you into a mindless zombie, which could cause you to overstay your welcome. That’s why we suggest figuring out how long you want to play, then setting your watch or cell phone to go off when your time is up. Having something to remind you that you’ve been playing too long will help you leave with cash in your pockets more often than not. Just try not to hit the “snooze” button.
Set a Cash Limit to Win
Now ordinarily we’d advise players to set an amount of money to lose first. Thus preventing you from spending money you’re not supposed to. However, it’s also good to have a set amount to make to prevent you getting greedy. If you don’t set limits you may never leave until you lose it all; therefore, set an amount you’d like to win and stick with it if you reach your goal. But be realistic, no casino game is going to give you a million in one sitting.
Don’t Change Your Bets…
We’ve all been there: You see that you’re winning with your dollar bets at Blackjack so you move up to five. Next thing you know you’ve lost three bets in a row and are questioning the casino’s reputation. The casino is not the problem… seriously. It’s just simple math.
Jumping from $1 to $5 might not seem like a huge leap but it certainly is. Three losses in a row at $1 equals $3, three at $5 equals $15; that’s five times worse! Don’t move up your set dollar amount even when you’re winning.
