Professional Athletes Who Gamble in Vegas
by Bodog Casino | Jan 22 2010
Vegas, the spot everyone walks, flies and drives down to in order to risk their rent to come back with a Cadillac. But here's the weird part, professional athletes who make millions of dollars like to risk their fortune to make an even bigger fortune themselves. Does it make a lot of sense? Not really, but we guess the rush of gaming knows no bounds. So which pros are always in Sin City looking for some quick cash? We give the most popular:
Michael Jordan
MJ is one of the best, most competitive athletes ever, and supposedly that competitive fire comes out on the roulette tables. According to his pal Charles Barkley Jordan has made/dropped millions in Sin City. And we're not talking one-to-two million here, we're talking one-to-two hundred million. And let's not forget he likes to bet on golf as well, so we're sure he knows all the Vegas golf courses inside out.
Charles Barkley
How much of a gambler is Barkley? He's got tabs at casinos all around Vegas. But don't think he takes the tab and runs, according to him he pays his Vegas bills when he has them. Sir Charles has recently slowed down his gaming, but we're sure the fun of the cards won't keep him away for long. Plus, he said it himself, he's rich, he can do whatever he wants.
Tiger Woods
Hmm. There's no question Tiger Woods went to Vegas on a regular bases; the question is - what did he do when he was there? Although there's proof of him getting his game on just like every other athlete with deep pockets, there are also plenty of confirmed rumors that he was gambling with his marriage in Sin City as well. And it looks like he lost... badly.
JaMarcus Russell
Supposedly instead of attending a year-end Raiders team meeting third-year pro JaMarcus Russell loves Vegas so much he ditched his team and b-lined to the city instead. What did he choose to gamble on? It looks like his future in the NFL. Russell went from first-to-third string on the horrible Raiders this year, and it's starting to look like he he'll be cut by the team. Hopefully he doubled his money in Vegas, he's going to need it.
Dennis Rodman
Rodzilla was notorious for blowing off some steam in Sin City during his Chicago Bull days. And we can't say it didn't work for him. The guy won three rings with the Bulls. Did Jordan and Scottie Pippen have plenty to do with that? Of course. But don't blame him for finding the best odds and letting it ride.
